Caruaru realiza Semana de Promoção à Saúde Bucal. 15 mil pessoas serão beneficiadas
A Secretaria de Saúde de Caruaru, no Agreste de Pernambuco, realiza até esta sexta-feira (27), a 1ª Semana de Promoção à Saúde Bucal. Os serviços são realizados nas escolas municipais da cidade e zona rural. Entre os principais objetivos da ação, estão minimizar o acúmulo de placa bacteriana, responsável pela doença periodontal, ressaltar a importância da manutenção do elemento dentário e reduzir o índice de crianças, de até 12 anos, com cárie.
De acordo com a Secretaria, serão realizadas palestras sobre a importância da escovação, da prevenção de doenças bucais e sobre o que é cárie, escovação supervisionada, entrega de escovas e aplicação de flúor. “A escovação dental supervisionada é um dos indicadores de Saúde Bucal preconizados pelo Ministério da Saúde e visa à prevenção de doenças bucais, mais especificamente a cárie dentária e doença periodontal (gengiva)”, comentou a coordenadora de Saúde Bucal da Atenção Básica Ellen Tabosa.
Os serviços serão realizados por pouco mais de 70 dentistas das ESF’s – Estratégia de Saúde da Família, dos PSF’s – Posto de Saúde da Família, mais próximos às escolas. A estimativa é que, até o final desse ano, 15 mil pessoas sejam atendidas. Além de estudantes, hipertensos, diabéticos, gestantes, também serão beneficiados.
