Saúde bucal indígena ganha 25 Unidades móveis
Cerca de 390 mil indígenas serão beneficiados com veículos adaptados para oferecer tratamento clínico odontológico, que podem realizar até 350 atendimentos por mês. São 25 Unidades Odontológicas Móveis (UOMs) que atenderão a população de 15 Distritos Sanitários Especiais Indígenas (Dseis). Também estão previstas ações de promoção e prevenção à saúde bucal.
Nesta sexta-feira (13), os dois primeiros veículos partiram de Tatuí, em São Paulo – onde são fabricados – em direção ao município de Barra do Garças, em Mato Grosso, próximo à comunidade Xavante. As outras vans seguirão viagem a partir da próxima segunda-feira (16).
O Ministério da Saúde investiu R$ 3,85 milhões na compra dos veículos e equipamentos. Os próximos distritos a receber as unidades são áreas às quais é possível ter acesso por terra, espalhadas por 23 unidades da Federação.
“As unidades móveis são componentes estratégicos do Programa Brasil Sorridente Indígena. A ação ampliará o acesso dessa população à atenção odontológica qualificada, levando aos locais que têm dificuldade de acesso aos serviços de saúde”, destacou o secretário Especial de Saúde Indígena, de Souza.
Brasil Sorridente Indígena
O programa Brasil Sorridente Indígena foi iniciado em dezembro de 2011 e tem ampliado o acesso da população ao atendimento odontológico. De acordo com levantamento feito pela Secretaria Especial de Saúde Indígena (Sesai), do Ministério da Saúde, em apenas seis meses, oito mil indígenas de distritos do Amazonas, Acre e Mato Grosso tiveram a oportunidade de fazer tratamentos odontológicos. Nesse período, o programa atendeu 2.025 indígenas, número quase três vezes maior que o obtido em 2010, quando foram realizados 863 atendimentos.
O objetivo é ampliar o atendimento e melhorar as condições de saúde bucal da população indígena brasileira que, quando necessita de algum tratamento dentário (ou qualquer outro atendimento de saúde) precisa se deslocar até os polos-base, que são pontos de assistência instalados nas proximidades das aldeias. Atualmente, existem 50 polos no País, número insuficiente para atender toda a população de índios.
Unidades móveis
As UOMs contam com um consultório equipado com cadeira odontológica, kit de pontas (conhecido como motorzinho do dentista), cadeira do dentista, refletor, amalgamador e fotopolimerizador – materiais que fazem o preparo dos produtos utilizados nas restaurações dos dentes -, raio-X odontológico e autoclave para esterilização do material.
Todas as unidades possuem ar-condicionado, pia para lavagem das mãos, reservatórios de água, armários para armazenagem de material e, acoplado ao veículo, uma carroceria que carrega um gerador, responsável por fornecer energia à unidade.
